Australia now has 54 F-35s, they plan to have a total of 72 units.There is the latest update from the Kangaroo Country because now they have announced the arrival of 4 units of F-35A fighter jets. With the arrival of these 4 units, Australia now has 54 F-35 units. Citing an official article from the Australian Ministry of Defense website, 4 F-35s flown directly from the US arrived at RAAF Base Williamtown on 30 August and 2 September 2022. The four aircraft will serve No. 77 Squadron under the auspices of No. 81 Wings in the Air Combat Group.

Flying over the Pacific Ocean, the four F-35s performed Exercise Lightning Ferry 22-3, the third time this year Australia has taken delivery of the F-35s via long-haul flights. The four Australia F-35As traveled from United States Luke Air Force Base in Arizona with trans-Pacific stops made at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii and Andersen Air Force Base in Guam.
